Large Oven Calorie Bomb Series (with some old records thrown in)

I spent my Sunday shopping; the mission (which UH chose to accept) was to find decent winter boots and a black fitted turtle neck. First stop, the souvenir shop looking for a PETA (I could get splashed with red paint) disapproved leather/fleece long waistcoat that speaks to my hippie side…as you can see, I’ve got everything planned. Did not find fleece as shop was closed but ended up at the retro stand sifting through old Beatles, Rolling Stones, Modern Talking (yikes!) vinyl issued by Μелодия; very amusing as can just about read Cyrillic at snail speed and make out names.

The moral of this story is to never attempt any responsible shopping (that may just be an oxymoron there) by starting with things you really don’t need: bling, disco-esque phone cover (never mind the indulgent encouragement from seemingly reasonable people), another moisturiser (dead sea, sea kelp, sea salt, they’re all the same, truly!) and retro records in a language you can’t understand. I emerged nevertheless modestly triumphant with one said black turtle neck, identical to the one UH just bought. All the better to listen to our retro records with together.

It now appears I have done the same here, hoping to have penned a few self congratulatory words on keeping up with the baking (especially with a proper grown up oven), but ending up with showing off my new record collection (poor UH has to return KINO as the actual record in the sleeve is of some other band, obviously am not progressing very much re Cyrillic). But the cooking continues in Dushanbe, substituting coconut milk with CMETAHA in Thai curries (sorry-ka, and you didn’t hear about the raisins neither), making chicken plov and harnessing a bread-butter pudding from old kulcha bread and fresh cherries from the Pamirs….Happy Sunday!

BlogBlog 2Blog 3P.S: No actual KINO record in sight, so am keeping the sleeve and will go back for the Russian edition/press of the Beatles’ Love Songs just ’cause I like the guy.

P.P.S: Spent Monday post-work shopping: the mission, to find decent winter boots… the search continues.
