Sweets, Scales and Sorry State of Affairs

So the Fatty in me has fully, unashamedly embraced the SmartPhone. Garmin and FitnessPal have a new friend: Scales (previously Manage My Weight, but they did not include detailed body measurement, all the better to beat yourself up more my dear).

As I can now wear my mother’s skirt and bell-bottomed pants; and she had a waistline of a child (please allow me to pat myself on my back), I am ready to resume/repair my still fragile relationship with food…IN A BIG WAY. Today, par example: 4 Lindt mini chocs, one Twix bar, one Danish, one piece of dark chocolate, one chocolate and marshmellow cookie and a little taste of an apple pie.

And I wish this was all I had today!

Is there a point to this blog? No, I just had a hard day at work, I’ve eaten badly and while I would like to write properly about the rather cool things that are happening, I was only inspired to write about something so trite as eating too many sweets. It is autumn, I have moved from Mae Sot, the condo in Chiangmai is done (and looking great!), I now live in a place too cool to mention on this silly entry.

I am disappointed in myself…after 40 years, I had hoped that sense, plain sense would find it’s way in my little head: that I should let things go, have some confidence in what I can do and do well and just get on with it. But today…I resorted to the age old remedy of comfort eating, comfort self-sorrying and worse yet comfort blogging!

So as I sit here, in the cool new apartment I’ve just moved into, thinking I was going to write my signature self-deprecating blog, I realise it’s 11 PM, I’m exhausted and that not very much will inspire me today save for some sweet unabashed treats, a few pages of David Mitchell and sleep.

So thank you for listening.

P.S: Bell bottoms are back again, just in case anyone was wondering, or laughing.
