The Sabai-sabai kind of life: Songkran!

April 15, 2015 Babe 0 Comments

There’s the graceful Loy Krathong, the floating white lanterns at New Year, flower shows, night bazaars but nothing beats the mother of all celebrations…SONGKRAN!!

Here we go!Songkran can inspire joy, fear or plain resignation; the latter amongst long stayers, so looking forward to another week of loud music and failing miserably to dodge a determined five year old armed with a small bucket. I have to admit this year, I was truly envious of the rust-haired youths down the road from the Office, with their ghetto blasters (techno is not dead, far from it), who’s only aim for the day is to get every living soul going past (and themselves) utterly drenched.

While I chip away at e-mails when the rest of the world as I know it is on holiday.
