Marmalade Pud on New Year weekend

Today’s fare is the Marmalade Pudding, cake no. 10 in my attempts to stay sane on Saturday mornings and help useless husband look less like a POW. Heavy sponge with a dangerously misleading light feel drenched in orange-marmalade glaze. And this I think will be the appropriate entry to 2015 after a week of roasts, taters, sauce and heady spiced cakes…40 is obviously not the era for sound decisions on the dietary front. But my head and limbs feel a little dull after a week of trying not to expect too much but wanting quite badly for the perfect turn of the decade (and Christmas and New Year…no pressure now). So Marmalade Pud it is-easy, sweet with a little bitter tease to keep you keen… Happy 2015!
